Increasing visibility and reducing freight emissions
Heathrow is the largest UK port by value and its ambition is to become one of Europe’s best airports for cargo.
A important element of this strategy is the Heathrow Cargo Cloud. Through the Insights for Air Cargo application, Heathrow is enjoying end-to-end visibility on its real cargo streams. The airport is also inviting the trucking companies and freight forwarders based around the airport to reduce emissions by using its load consolidation app, part of the new Heathrow CargoCloud. The application is the UK’s first of its kind, and a key part of the airport’s plan to ensure that even as the airport grows, they’re doing what they can to reduce the impact of airport-related traffic on the community.
